“Easy to hook up and plug in. Cooled my 800 sqft room in under and hour. Only issue I had was the window cover doesn't fit my standard window size properly. Where I need the 2nd slide to be covers the vent by 1.5-2 inches. I just flipped the slide the opposite way so it works. Doesn't lock that way though. Not an issue though. It's not quiet, but I wanted the noise (day shift sleeper). I didn't want to run my central ac in the whole house night and day. This portable ac allows me to cook just my room while I sleep during the day, and central ac cools the rest of the house for the rest of family at night.

It is actually much quieter than the large wall unit that was installed in my living room, and blows way more cold air at that!! Installation was very easy! This thing was heavy, and I had to slide the box across the carpet to get it into my room, but you don't have to lift it into place like a window unit, the wheels are already installed on the bottom, and the quick guide packet that comes with it has helpful pictures that made it all come together in about an hour.I personally opted NOT to cut the expansion panel for the window, because I do move around a lot and have plans to move this fall, and I don't want to make any permanent changes to the hardware that comes with it in case my next place has a different window size. Instead, I have just taped two pieces together for now with clear packing tape and it works just fine for me! I was a little worried about gaps, or my cat being able to mess with it and get outside, but with the foam strips that came with the unit, neither one of these potential concerns have come true.I will try to make updates to this review- I have only been using it for a few days, but I wish I had bought something like this years ago.
For this unit specifically, I was also a little bit leery about buying from this brand because I have no previous experience with them. However, I can tell you that everything was packaged very well, nothing was missing, damaged or bent in any way, the unit itself appears to be very high quality. All of the plastics are solid, the buttons on the unit and remote work well, and the power cord is very thickly coated and seems very durable.

“Got this when a heat wave was forecasted for our (usually mild) area. It definitely helped us survive lol. We have vaulted ceilings, but it pumped out cold air non-stop, making at least one room breathable. Things we learned: It can get noisy when the filter needs cleaned. So make sure to clean it regularly!! (we're not used to having AC, so we didn't think about a filter). We also couldn't use our living room outlet without causing it to flip the breaker (it's an older house). We ended up running the plug right outside since that outlet is on it's own breaker. The door has to be open for the exhaust anyways, so it wasn't a huge issue.
Only CON I can think of -- I wish was that you could buy the window panels separately. It came with extensions for a tall window, but we're using a sliding class door. ONE more panel could have reached the top of our door. I refuse to buy an entire kit when I only need one panel. So I just use cardboard, but it's wonky and sucks.
